About half of patients with BPH have OAB symptoms. Nevertheless, anticholinergics do not find wide application for medication treatment of BPH, due to the risk of development of such an undesirable complication, as an acute urinary retention. The combination treatment with alpha-blockers and anticholinergics is promising and leads to significant improvement of quality of life of BPH patients with OAB symptoms.
