QUALITY OF LIFE IN PATIENTS WITH DM2 WITH NEPHROPATHY AND CHRONIC KIDNEY FAILURE
Abstract
The aim of this study was to assess QOL in patients with DM2 with nephropathy and chronic kidney failure, which underwent treatment in dialysis block of the Department of Nephrology of the National Hospital 24 patients completed a SF-36v2tm questionnaire and were characterized in terms of diabetic complications. Matched groups of non-diabetic patients (n=51) and diabetic patients without complications (30) served as controls. Self-rated physical health was significantly worse (p<
0.01) in diabetic dialysis patients compared with non-diabetic patients, diabetic patients with normal kidney function and the control group. Reduced QOL related with physical and psychological components of QOL.
